Saturday the 23th of November at 11 a.m, Santa Claus arrives in Aalborg City directly from Greenland. His ship docks at the Port of Aalborg right next to the old ice-breaker Elbjørn. Here he is officially welcomed by Mayor Henning G. Jensen, and thousands of children and adults.

About 11:30 Santa Claus and the Mayor will take a sleigh ride through the city and end up at Santa’s house on Gammel Torv where you can find the traditional christmas market.

On the same day, The tall and stunning Christmas tree from Aalborg’s friendship town Frederiksstad in Norway will be lit at 15:00 an elf orchestra will provide the entertainment to get you into a jolly Christmas mood. The lighting of the Christmas tree is an annual event that marks the beginning of Christmas in Aalborg. At the same time, all the Christmas lights in the city will be lit and the Christmas spirit will fill the streets, the stores and the air.
