Als Church

Not far from the town of Als on the east coast of Himmerland lies Als Church, with a fantastic view of the Kattegat.

Als Church is a very beautiful medieval church. It dates back to around 1200 and consists of a late Romanesque apse, choir, and nave with a late Gothic tower in the west and a porch in the south.

The interior of the church is exceptionally elegant and newly restored, featuring a very old altarpiece, pulpit, and Romanesque baptismal font. Inside the church, you'll find an old churchwarden's chair and a new organ from Marcussen & Søn.

The church is open when the gravedigger is at the cemetery, from Monday to Friday (both days inclusive) from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
